Dr. Amanda C. Perry, Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Amanda Perry is a 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Valdosta, Georgia since that time. Dr. Perry grew up on a sixth generation family farm which is the oldest established business in Colquitt County, Georgia. Being raised on Pineywoods Farms fostered a love of animals, and at age 13 Dr. Perry knew that her lifelong dream was to become a veterinarian. She had plenty of “hands on” experience in raising guinea pigs, rabbits, cows, raccoons, dogs, and cats. Beginning in high school and all through college and vet school, Dr. Perry worked for several veterinarians, research facilities, and vet school jobs to gain additional experience and exposure to all facets of the field. Since 2005, Dr. Perry has been the owner of Pineywoods Veterinary Hospital, named after her beloved family farm. She has a special interest in preventative medicine, because she believes that prevention on the front end helps her clients maintain good health for their pets for the long term.
